You needn’t come if you don’t want to but I hope you will.
We have enough food at home. We needn’t go shopping today.
We don’t need to buy some food.

Needn’have we did something but we didn’t know that it wasn’t necessary.

She hurried to bus stop. But the bus was late. She needn’t have hurried.

Didn’t need we did something and we knew that it wasn’t necessary.

Yesterday was Sunday. She didn’t need to go to school. But she went.
