(To ask or say howlong; the action or situtaion began in the past and stil happening or has just stopped.)(With how long, for and since)

Mr Brown : Is it raining?
Mrs Brown : Yes, it has been raining for 3 hours.

PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

I have lost my checkbook. Can you help me look for it?
Ahh! I have spilled milk on the carpet.

Mr Adem: No. I have lost it, I haven't find it yet. (Yet Mr Adem is expecting something to happen)

Mr Adem : Don't forget to eat your apple, will you?

PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Mrs Brown : Where is Ali?
Mr Brown : Ali is at home now.
Mrs Brown : What is he doing?
Mr Brown : He is watching television.

Mrs Brown : Look, he is playing quitar very well. Music is good. Let’s dance.
Mr Brown : Are you enjoying the party?

(We use present continuous tense when we talk about an action which is happening around the time of speaking, but not necessarily exactly time of speaking)

Mrs Brown : Hello, how are you?
Mr Brown : Thank you

SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE
